Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri is the Opposition Leader of Senate of the Pakistan. He assumed office from January 20, 2026. Politically he belongs from Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM). Shibli Faraz is former Leader of the House for the Senate of Pakistan from 26 August 2018 to 4 June 2020. He has been a member of Senate of Pakistan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2015. He previously served as the Minister of Science and Technology from 16 April 2021 to 10 April 2022. He also served as the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting from 28 April 2020 to 2 March 2021.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has been elected to the Senate of Pakistan from KPK in 2021 representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI. Previously he also served a member of the Senate of Pakistan from 2015 till 2021. He is the son of the late Urdu poet Ahmad Faraz. His uncle Barrister Masood Kausar had served as the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
